WATCH: 10-year-old child scores one of the best volleys of 2018

A strong contender for the next Puskas Award, we reckon…

There’s only a matter of days left in 2018, yet this goal is up there with anything we’ve seen all year… and it was scored by a 10-year-old child.

With a lofted clearance clearance dropping awkwardly over his shoulder, Lennart Karl, playing for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Under 11 side, brought the ball under his spell beautifully with the outside of his left foot. Then, spinning to face the Borussia Mönchengladbach goal, he uses the outside of his left again to send an expertly controlled dipping volley into the far corner.

Understandably, the goal brought huge cheers and applause from those in attendance. The footage of the goal made waves on social media earlier in the month, but is now enjoying even more exposure after Borussia Mönchengladbach shared it from their Twitter page – admitting that even their first team goalkeeper, Yann Sommer, would’ve struggled to save it.

Reports claim the goal was scored in the final of a tournament, putting Frankfurt 2-0 up. The game finished, meaning this proved to be the decisive goal of the game.

Seemingly, the youngster has an eye for the spectacular. The video below also shows him scoring directly from a corner kick in 2017.
