Not a derby, but one of the fiercest rivalries of the Premier League era
They're not quite the same anymore, but matches between Arsenal and Manchester United were once the highlight of every season. The two best teams in the country, coached by legendary managers, captained by two midfield icons who really, really disliked each other, it was the Premier League at its best.
Their rivalry stems from the two sides once being the best two teams in the country, and while that may no longer be true in the post Ferguson and Wenger era, the rivalry remains. Fans of the clubs remember those clashes between the last 1990s and the early 2010s fondly, which heats up the tension when the sides meet now.
Ahead of their upcoming clash at the Emirates, we have prepared a quiz that tests your knowledge of this historic rivalry. The first round is pretty simple, you just have to identify goalscorers whose faces have been pixelated. In the second round, you'll have to cast your memory back a bit to remember classic encounters between the teams, and in the third you will be tested on your knowledge of their current squads.
Good luck.
