Congratulations. There was no contest in the end. Liverpool are deserved champions and it is a relief to see them clinch the title properly, rather than have it awarded to them - as fair as that would have been. While the matches behind closed doors have been eery and unsettlingly boring at times, there is no asterisk next to this title.
Liverpool's transformation under Klopp has been a great lesson to the rest of the league on patience, planning and perfectionism. They seemed to shop in a different market, spend half as much as their peers at the top of the game, and emerge with the vastly superior team.
Throughout the course of this season, a lot of the discourse around Liverpool from non-Liverpool fans has been focused on the gloating that will inevitably follow, and how "insufferable" it will be. You have to be incredibly fragile to allow this to upset you. You've had long enough to prepare for it. And it's not as if they haven't endured watching their rivals gloat in glory for years. Reap what you sow and all that.
This one is for all the Liverpool fans nursing hangovers and sore throats. I'm very jealous of this achievement that I will never experience. Enjoy the quiz.
