Marge says she "usually doesn't get involved in politics"
Marge Simpson - or rather, the producers of
The Simpsons - has responded to comments from a senior advisor to Donald Trump who said that Kamala Harris sounded like Marge.
The official
Simpsons Twitter account released a video of Marge weighing in after Jenna Ellis, a senior legal adviser and attorney to the President, tweeted about Harris' voice.

On Wednesday, Ellis tweeted "Kamala sounds like Marge Simpson".

In the video, Marge, voiced by her regular voice actor Julie Kavner, says that she "usually doesn't get involved in politics, but the President's senior advisor Jenna Ellis just said Kamala Harris sounds like me."
"Lisa says she doesn't mean it as a compliment."
"If that's so, as an ordinary suburban housewife, I'm starting to feel a little disrespected."
"I teach my children not to name call, Jenna."
The video ends with Marge commenting that she was going to say that she was "pissed off," but she thought it would be bleeped out.
US senator Kamala Harris was named as Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's running mate earlier this week.
This is not the first time
The Simpsons has responded to comments made by a political figure about the show.
In 1992, President George H.W. Bush infamously said during a speech that he was "going to keep on trying to strengthen the American family, to make American families a lot more like
The Waltons and a lot less like
The Simpsons", in reference to
the Great Depression-set 1970s show of the same name.
The Simpsons fired back though, with a specially made intro rushed out to accompany the next airing episode of the show.

In the short segment, the family were seen watching President Bush's address. After Bush finishes speaking, Bart quipped "Hey, we're just like the Waltons. We're praying for an end to the Depression too."
