Brian Bilston’s ‘The Downing Street Exodus’ comes after several high-profile members of Boris Johnson’s front bench quit
Celebrated internet poet Brian Bilston has penned a hilarious verse after a slew of resignations hit the beleaguered Johnson administration.
The prime minister has defied calls to resign despite a fresh wave of ministerial resignations, a scathing attack by former Cabinet minister Sajid Javid and signs that support on the Tory backbenches is ebbing away.
In the past 24 hours, a handful of Cabinet Ministers and four parliamentary private secretaries have quit their roles, with the Conservative Party vice-chairman resigning live on TV.
The Downing Street “exodus” has since been perfectly encapsulated by internet poet Brian Bilston, who has won acclaim for poems such as ‘Frisbee’ and ‘Love Poem’ among others.

His verse about the No 10 walk-out is similarly hilarious.
He says even the “wallpaper has peeled itself off in protest”, while the “Gilt-edge mirrors offered looks of resignation”.
