The latest Clacton election odds and polls have revealed the bookmakers’ predictions for Nigel Farage’s bid to win the Essex seat once again.
The Reform UK leader has announced he will resign as MP and trigger a by-election, giving voters the chance to decide his future after he faced allegations that he failed to declare financial support from wealthy donors.
However, bookmakers have already weighed in on the likely result, with Farage currently the overwhelming favourite to win the seat again.
According to Betfair, Farage is priced at just 1/8 to retain Clacton, putting him well ahead of his rivals. The Conservatives are his nearest challengers at 13/2, while Labour sits further behind at 14/1.
Meanwhile, Rupert Lowe’s Restore Britain, which was formed after breaking away from Reform UK, has odds of 25/1. The Greens and Liberal Democrats are considered outsiders, with both parties priced at 200/1.
Flynn Goward, managing director at Star Sports, said the early betting suggests punters believe Farage will have little difficulty holding onto the Essex seat.
He stated: "Following Nigel Farage’s announcement that he will resign as MP for Clacton, triggering a by-election in which he says he intends to stand again, the betting suggests punters expect him to have little trouble holding onto the Essex seat.”
