Coffee-lovers need not apply

Tetley Tea are looking out for two lucky people to travel the world drinking and tasting tea.

The company are advertising for two Graduate Trainee Tea Buyers – so if you have a “clear passion for everything tea related”, then this could be your dream job.

The full time role is based at Tetley’s HQ in London and will see successful applicants taste up to 300 teas a day in order to develop your palate, along with the usual responsibilities of admin work and needing to hit regular deadlines.

By the end of all the training though, the Graduate Tea Buyers will be travelling the world to visit different tea growing regions so they can expand their knowledge of the beverage.

Explaining a little bit more about the role, Tetley UK said: “Initially you will be supporting the tea buyer and work closely alongside the tasters to develop your palate [but] after a few years, there will be opportunity to travel to tea growing regions to build relationships with suppliers and cement your knowledge of the tea manufacturing process.

“You will have the chance to work on many origins throughout your training and after five years you can expect to progress into a fully qualified tea buyer responsible for your own origin.”

There are a couple of requirements for the role though. First, you must have a 2:2 or above in any degree discipline.

The job also requires applicants to have strong analytical skills, be able to work well under pressure, have a knowledge of Excel and have excellent communication skills too.

So if you’re reading this and thinking “erm, yep, that’s me all over” then you can fire over an application by heading here.

You’ll have to hurry though, as the role closes on November 5.
