Summer is not over yet

An Iberian blast causing temperatures to soar is set to hit four parts of the UK before the end of the month.

Heatwave maps reveal a ‘black’ weather shift is due to hit parts of the UK next week as reported by Birmingham Live.

The Iberian blast from the continent will sizzle East of England, Southeast England, East Midlands and Yorkshire and Humber on Thursday, August 29.

30c heat is likely in the East which will be impacted the most alongside the south.

A black hue is set to sweep Europe including Spain as the month draws to a close.

The bank holiday weekend will begin unsettled with heavy rain disrupting parts of the UK but will improve as the weekend goes on.

It is thought that the rain will be slower to clear in the southeast.

James Madden from Exacta Weather said: “This week will continue to be varied and continue with the heavy downpours and autumnal weather (breezy to windy) in among some sunny intervals for many until around Sunday.

“Then we will start to see the first signs of this pattern change taking effect as high pressure and significant high-pressure work northwards across our shores for at least 80–90% of the coming 1-2 weeks at the very least.”

The Met Office forecast from August 26 to September 4 explains: “The rest of the period is signalled to maintain the northwest-southeast split, but with settled weather in the south and east perhaps becoming more extensive across the country later.

“Temperatures overall will probably be close to average at first, although, with a chance of some warmer conditions developing the south and east, probably extending to most parts by the middle of next week.”

Festivals such as Leeds and Creamfields saw some disruption as they got underway on Thursday and Friday, with stages closed and tents blowing away.
