Watch: You can probably guess how the crowd outside the BBC greeted UKIP’s exit poll result

Homenews

No matter what happens, Election Night hasn't proven to be a particularly good one for those connected with the UK Independence Party.

It started with the exit polls, which forecast that UKIP would have a grand total of zero seats by the time all results were in. The results of the exit polls were released shortly after 10pm and, as is now a regular thing on the night of major elections, the forecast was beamed on to the front of the BBC's Broadcast House. As David Dimbleby shared the results, cheers greeted the news that UKIP were expected to get no seats. As the video below shows, even louder cheers were heard as this information appeared on the outside of the building. https://twitter.com/scottygb/status/872925213440315395 Later, the BBC also removed UKIP from their top five parties graphic. https://twitter.com/decochild/status/872947604950220800 Again, it's only an exit poll, but one that might just be evidence to suggest that UKIP have had their day.
