Watch: Shocking footage released of jogger barging woman into path of double-decker bus

Thankfully, the driver was able to react quickly

Police are hunting for a jogger who was captured on CCTV barging an unknown woman into the path of an oncoming bus.

The driver of the bus was able to react quickly enough to avoid the woman, as she fell into the road on Putney Bridge in London.

The footage, which can be seen below, shows the jogger running across the bridge at 7.40 on the morning of May 5 this year. He collides with the woman, who is walking in the opposite direction, sending her into the road just as a double-decker bus is approaching.
The driver of the bus pulled over to check on the woman, who is said to have suffered ‘minor’ injuries. The jogger is said to have ran the other way across the bridge 15 minutes later, but ignored the victim’s attempts to speak to him.

“The victim was put in extreme danger when she was knocked into the road,” said investigating officer, Sergeant Mat Knowles.

“It was only due to the superb quick reactions of the bus driver that she was not hit by the vehicle.”

Police would now like to speak to people that witnessed the incident or recognise the jogger who is described as white and in his early to mid 30s with brown eyes and short brown hair.

Those with information have been asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
