Watch Donald Trump complain about being named Person of the Year

Some people are never happy

You’ve got to hand it to Donald Trump.

No one can moan about how unfair life is when blessed with so much quite like the satsuma-coloured septuagenarian. The billionaire businessman who is soon to be the President of the United States and thus the de facto Leader of the Free World is now moaning about being named Time magazine’s Person of the Year of 2016.

That’s right. Being granted the honour previously bestowed on the likes of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Mahatma Gandhi, Winston Churchill, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr, Pope John Paul II and the Queen hasn’t been received with unbridled joy by the President-elect. Instead he is less than satisfied with the name of the title.

Trump thinks he should be referred to as ‘Man of the Year’ rather than ‘Person of the Year’, which is somewhat strange seeing as ‘person’ covers the whole of the planet’s population, whereas ‘man’ includes less than half. The tradition of selecting a ‘Man of the Year’ began in 1927, but was changed to ‘Person’ in 1999.

Watch Trump make his point loud and clear at a public appearance at Baton Rouge Metro Airport below. As you can see, the ‘Person’ bit really irks him for some reason – so much so that he has a dig at Time magazine’s circulation figures. Talk about a sore winner…
