Two people are dead after a suspected double shooting in the town of Magdalen, Norfolk.

The body of a man believed to be in his forties was discovered outside of a property in Magdalen – near King’s Lynn – while the body of a woman, also believed to be in her forties, was discovered inside the property, police say.

East of England Ambulance Service alerted police after the bodies of the deceased were found at the Stow Road property at around midnight last night.

Detective Superintendent Paul Durham said:

“We are in the very early stages of the investigation and while I understand how shocking the news of this incident must be for neighbours of the two people involved, and other local residents, I can reassure them we are putting all our efforts into establishing the circumstances surrounding their deaths.”

Police said that they are treating it as a “firearms incident” and have closed off the scene for forensic examination.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service Trust said:

“We got a call at 12.08am and sent two ambulance crews, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance officer.

“There were two patients but sadly there was nothing that could be done for them and they were declared dead at the scene.”
