This new data-eating iPhone feature could cost Apple millions in a lawsuit

Apple is always trying to innovate.

So when a new iOS9 feature came out to stop iPhone users' internet browsing being hampered by sh*tty WiFi, everyone was happy. Or so we thought. But the Wi-Fi assist feature, which switches to chomping through your data when the local Wi-Fi signal vanishes has p*ssed a lot of people off, apparently. Gizmodo report that iPhone users with the update report seeing their data being devoured and many going over their cap as a result. So p*ssed off are these people, that a $5m lawsuit has been filed against Apple over the Wi-Fi feature by a Californian couple. The pair claim that after upgrading to iOS9 on their iPhone 5S devices, they were charged for going over their data limit without even knowing. Now they want damages, big time. To avoid getting caught out, you can just go into Settings and switch Wi-Fi assist to 'off'.
