After 27 years of waiting, the families of the 96 people that were killed in the Hillsborough tragedy have been vindicated in their search for the truth.
Various tributes have been paid to the victims of the horrific events and the heinous scandal that ensued, but the recent BBC documentary was arguably one of the most powerful and poignant of them all.
Liverpool supporter Joe Smith was just one of the many people that was watching Daniel Gordon’s incredibly moving documentary on the Hillsborough disaster, but sadly the documentary was more relevant to him because he was actually in the stadium when those tragic events occurred.
After seeing the haunting footage, Smith was able to spot himself on the pitch, and he’s looking for help in identifying a heroic man that helped save his life.
Since making this appeal public on his Facebook page, the post has been shared over 76,000 times in less than a day.
