On the surface is a very personal moment. Teacher Matthew Patterson from Banneker High School in the US state of Georgia was so moved by the sad news that he stopped teaching, put up a video of Prince performing and shed a tear.
The moment was recorded by a student, and the tens of thousands of people have shared it because it resonates with them. Speaking of his sadness, Patterson told the Daily News:
“It hit me like a ton of bricks. I talked about what Prince meant to me as an artist and a brave performer and a person unwilling to take stuff from record companies. “I’ve been listening to Prince since I was 7. I must’ve spent thousands and thousands of hours listening to Prince. I was just a huge fan.”We know exactly how you, mate.
