Swedish government ask for an explanation following President Trump’s recent remarks

Fake news. Sad!

Paul Moore

This might be mentioned in his next press conference.

If you’re looking to obtain news from Sweden, an instruction manual isn’t required because there are more normal, straightforward and mundane ways to obtain information from the Scandinavian country.

Despite the significant changes in the sociopolitical landscape of the world, it’s still possible to buy a newspaper, perform a quick online search, or if you happen to be the most powerful man in the world, get a member of your administration to call the American Embassy in Stockholm and see what’s going on.

Why do any of these though when you can go on live TV and confuse millions of people?

In case you haven’t heard, President Trump got caught telling porky pies during a rally speech in Florida. During a discussion on migration issues in Europe, Trump didn’t waste time in reminding his crowd about the recent terrorist attacks on the continent.

“We’ve got to keep our country safe,” he told supporters. “You look at what’s happening in Germany, you look at what’s happening last night in Sweden.

“Sweden, who would believe this? Sweden. They took in large numbers. They’re having problems like they never thought possible. You look at what’s happening in Brussels. You look at what’s happening all over the world. Take a look at Nice. Take a look at Paris.”

Given that no major terrorist incidents have recently occurred in Sweden – unlike the horrific scenes in Nice, Paris, Berlin and Brussels – plenty of people were left confused, no more so than the Swedish Embassy in the US.

President Trump’s reply should be interesting.
