Mistakes genuinely don’t come worse
A shocking x-rated gaffe on an Ariana Grande Wicked doll has left customers absolutely stunned after discovery an unbelievable slip up on the packaging.
Film merchandise is a huge money-maker for blockbuster films with 2024’s Wicked being no different coming in two feature length parts at having a budget of $148 million (£115 million).
The musical based on the book by Winnie Holzman is a classic and as well as being previously adapted into theatre, will be hitting the big screen on the 22 November.
The film stars singer Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo as the two main characters, while also featuring Jeff Goldblum as The Wizard.
And, in typical movie merchandising fashion, dolls have been made for kids of the main characters, with one being Ariana Grande as character Glinda.
Miniaturised and boxed up, everything seems fairly normal with the doll produced by toy giant Mattel, until you take a peak at the back of the casing.
Written onto the rear side of the packaging is a simple, but catastrophically misleading website – www.Wicked.com.
Most people would assume that to be normal, leading to a website all about the film, its routes as a book and maybe even some stuff about its theatre runs.
Well, no. It does not take you anywhere like that as it turns out that the web address was already taken – by a porn site.
Upon searching this URL, people have been shocked to find themselves taken to a site for adult film, describing itself as a place for “cinematic and parody porn movies”.
Fortunately there is a portal that must be passed through to reach any kind of content, however, this is still easily bypassed, and parents have been left understandably stunned.
In fact the actually link to the film’s website is www.wickedmovie.com, a simple oversight.

It is unsure how much merchandise this slip up has affected in terms of stock and what this could mean in terms of recalls.
Ultimately though, that’s one wickedly bad day in the office for toy maker Mattel.
