Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, announced that Poland was struck by an unidentified object in Poland’s eastern provinces.
The blast caused a 10 meter-wide (33 feet) crater, around 100 kilometers (62 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
Tusk said: "All the indications are that it was a Russian Kh-101 ballistic missile, but we want to be 100% certain about the type of missile and who launched it."
Ukraine underwent an offensive attack from Russia with Lviv as their primary target.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiha, said that the ‘Russian missile’ "crossed into Poland as part of Russia's massive strike against Ukraine, violating Nato airspace"
Ever since Russia's full-scale war in Ukraine began in February 2022, a number of Russian drones and one unarmed Russian missile have landed in Poland.
Poland’s military detected the incoming object around 03:40 (01:40 GMT) last night.
NATO scrambled jet fighters and military helicopters, as an F-16 fighter jet was sent to intercept it before it disappeared from their radar.
As sirens echoed in the streets of Lublin and Krasnystaw due to the Russian airstrike, residents were caught in a panic.
The sirens did not roar for very long. However, the neighboring village of Tarnawa Kolonia was met with a surprise.
Residents of Tarnawa Kolonia reported hearing a loud bang around 04:00 (02:00 GMT), as the authorities managed to find the crash site an hour later.
There were no reported casualties caused by the strike, but the incident is being treated very seriously by Tusk.
Tomasz Stachyra, spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the State Fire Service in Lublin, told local media that emergency services were securing an area in a town near Lublin
"Something likely fell,” said officials, but have not yet confirmed whether it was a missile.
Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, had notably left Lublin the previous evening.
As Zelenskyy met with Polish Leaders after a return from discussions with US President, Donald Trump.
