The judge in Adam Johnson’s child sex trial reprimanded the footballer for his behaviour in the courtroom, according to reports.

Johnson was found guilty by majority verdict on one count of sexual activity with a child and not guilty on a separate count, having earlier pleaded guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child and one count of grooming.

And, according to the Daily Mail, Judge Jonathan Rose scolded the 28-year-old for what has been described as “discourteous behaviour”.

Judge Rose stated that Johnson could face up to 10 years in jail following the verdict, which comes at the end of a trial which began on February 10.

Johnson has been granted bail, with multiple reports claiming the judge has given the former England international an opportunity to say goodbye to his daughter.
