Police are investigating five reports of sexual offences

Tim Westwood has reportedly been interviewed under caution by the Met over five sex offence complaints.

MailOnline reported Wednesday that the former BBC and Capital Radio DJ was questioned over the allegations that span 34 years.

The 65-year-old was spoken to on 15 March than again on 4 April, the outlet reported.

All of the allegations are said to relate to alleged incidents in London, with the first in 1982. The most recent 2016.

Westwood’s representatives did not respond to a request to comment from the Mail.

He has previously denied any wrongdoing or illegality.

A Met spokesperson told the publisher: “Police are investigating five reports relating to allegations of non-recent sexual offences allegedly committed by a man.

“The offences are alleged to have occurred in London between 1982 and 2016.

“A 65-year-old man was interviewed under caution on March 15, 2023, and April 4, 2023.”

An internal review by the BBC concluded in August that the corporation should have further explored issues raised about Westwood during his time at the broadcaster.

The BBC are currently probing six misconduct allegations of bullying and sexual misconduct against Westwood, with an independent barrister leading the review.

Westwood left the BBC in 2013 and stepped down from his show on Capital Xtra in April following accusations by several women of misconduct and predatory behaviour.

In July, the BBC said it had received six complaints against Westwood, including one that was referred to police.
