Charlotte was visibly upset after watching the coffin go by

Princess Charlotte, 7, was spotted reminding her brother Prince George, 9, of the royal protocol while at the Queen’s funeral.

Prince William and Princess Kate’s eldest children, who are second and third in line to the thrown, walked in the procession behind the Queen’s coffin – bidding goodbye to their “Gan Gan”.

Given their age, there had been questions raised about whether the children would be at the service, but their attendance was confirmed in an order of service on Sunday.

The kids stood amongst 2,000 people who gathered inside Westminster Abbey at the service for the late monarch on Monday morning. Meanwhile, William and Kate’s four-year-old son Louis stayed at home.

It was after the service when the Queen’s coffin was transferred to the State Hearse to begin its journey to Windsor that Princess Charlotte could be seen whispering to her brother.

She appeared to say to Prince George: “You need to bow” when the Queen’s coffin moved past them.

The nine-year-old took his younger sister’s advice and bowed his head when her coffin drove off.

Another royal family member who was visibly emotional as he followed the Queen’s coffin was her son, Prince Andrew.

The mourning royal, alongside Prince Harry, was banned from wearing his military uniform at the ceremony after being stripped of his titles.

Prince Andrew was stripped of his royal duties and military titles following his controversial relationship with convicted sex abuser Jeffrey Epstein, and wore his morning suit despite earlier reports that he would be allowed to wear his military uniform as a ‘mark of respect’ for his mother.

Andrew’s return to public life following the Queen’s death has been described as “beyond shameful” by lawyers who represented Epstein victims, who said it could prove triggering for survivors.
