A pregnant woman’s head was found in a bin after an ex-boyfriend allegedly decapitated her before her baby shower.

Liese Dodd’s body was discovered by her mum, with her head stashed in a rubbish bin outside her flat, reports Riverbender. The 22-year-old woman was about to celebrate her pregnancy with a baby shower, and the baby was expected in late July.

Police were called to a property in the 3400 block of Bolivar Street in Alto, Illinois, where they uncovered a crime they have since referred to as “abominable.”

Deundrea Holloway, 22, was arrested by police on Friday and, according to the outlet, was charged with numerous crimes by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office. According to Fox News, Holloway and Dodd had dated on and off for around two years.

The crimes include two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of intentional homicide to an unborn child, dismembering a human body, offences relating to motor vehicles, and concealment of a homicide death.

His bail has been set at $2,000,000.

“She was savagely, savagely killed,” said Illinois police chief Marcos Pulido. “It’s beyond reprehensible.”

He added: “This daughter, this mother-to-be and her family, were in the planning stages of a baby shower that was supposed to be at the end of June but now instead the family is planning a funeral.”

“We offer our sympathy to the family of Liese Dodd for the profound loss they are suffering,” said Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Haine. “We believe the evidence will show that the defendant’s gruesome actions here killed both a young woman and the child she carried.”
