CCTV footage of the attack has been widely shared on social media

A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault following an attack on a 15-year-old in a park in Bradford.

Shocking footage of the incident shows the youngster being dragged off his bike and into the Mirror Pool in Bradford’s City Park before being repeatedly kicked in the head by a gang of youths.

West Yorkshire Police have since said the victim only suffered minor injuries in the attack, which took place at around 4pm on Sunday.

Video of the incident has been widely circulated on social media and appears to show a park warden standing nearby. Though many viewers have pointed out that the man, believed to be employed by the city council, does not physically intervene, reports have since claimed that he informed the park’s CCTV team of the attack before they called the police.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Enquiries have now established this incident occurred at about 4pm on Monday, 24 February.

“A 16-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of assault and later released on bail for enquiries to continue.

“The victim, a 15-year-old male, was treated for minor injuries.

“The victim has not reported the matter as a hate crime.”

Police are continuing their investigations.
