Pep Guardiola has jokingly said that his target for next season is to score a goal away at Tottenham.

Manchester City are on course to complete a historic treble after securing their fifth Premier League title in six years at the weekend. City still have the FA Cup final against Manchester United on June 3 before facing Inter Milan in the Champions League final a week later.

Guardiola has remained coy and said he will only think about the Treble if they can win the FA Cup.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “I start to think about the Treble if we are able to go to Istanbul with two titles in the pocket, then I will concede if we win one more title we do it.

“Look at United, it was once in a lifetime in the UK and the way they won the Camp Nou against Bayern Munich, I was there.

“It is so difficult to do it, the last two finals we have will be terribly complicated.

“I know United want to avoid it and Inter Milan is Inter Milan, so step by step.”

But when asked what his goals would be for next season, the Spaniard decided to take a more light-hearted approach.

“Score a goal against Spurs away,” he said. “I stay because I want to beat Spurs away.”

City have found Spurs to be somewhat of a bogey side since Guardiola joined in 2016, losing all five of their recent trips to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs’ 1-0 win against them in February also means that City have failed to score a goal at the north London club’s home since 2019.
