The Creme Egg pic has caused a bit of a stir

Everyone loves a bit of a chocolatey treat every now and then, especially at Christmas and Easter when all the best chocolates come back out.

Among the nation’s favourites is the classic Creme Egg. But one mum has shared a picture that might cause you to think twice before you bite into your next treat.

When sharing the picture, the mum has warned that it may well upset die-hard Creme Egg fans, after she measured out the amount of sugar which is included in just one of the confections.

According to The Mirror, many people in the comments of the mum’s picture were resolute in their love for Creme Eggs, and said they would continue to eat them regardless of how much sugar they contained.

One defiant Creme Egg fan wrote: “I don’t even care, I’m still gonna eat a multipack in one sitting on more than one occasion. Creme Eggs are too good to give a s**t.”

According to Cadbury UK’s website, one singular Creme Egg contains 24 grams of sugar per 40g egg.

The NHS advises that adults should consume no more than 30g of free sugars a day, so one Creme Egg is going to take up the vast majority of that allow
