Police have labelled it an ‘eggs-travagant theft’
Police were sent on possibly the biggest ever Easter egg hunt after a man stole roughly £40,000 worth of Cadbury Creme Eggs.
In an act of extreme egg shell-fishness, the thief stole 200,000 of the chocolate treats from Stafford Park in Telford on Saturday (February 11).
Police were quick to scramble units as the man eggscaped with the confectionary.
Shortly after making off with the eggs, the Easter Bunny wannabe was stopped in a vehicle on the M42 northbound.
He has since been identified by West Mercia Police as 32-year-old Joby Pool and has been charged with criminal damage and two counts of theft.
Taking to Twitter, West Mercia Police said they had “helped save Easter for Creme Egg fans.”
