Met Éireann has revealed temperatures will reach close to 30C this week.
The national forecaster has revealed eastern and southeastern counties will see temperatures ranging from 22 to 29 degrees.
While counties in this region, such as Dublin, Wicklow, Carlow and Kildare are in for sunny spells, other parts of the country won’t see the return of good weather just yet.
For parts of the West and North, patchy drizzle and a small chance of thunderstorms will make up most of the week, however, sunny spells are expected as we get into the weekend.
Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather said the temperatures of 'up to 29c' have a good chance of lasting 'well into next week'.
Tonight will be cloudy across Ulster and Connacht with patchy drizzle, while it will remain mostly dry elsewhere. It will be humid with temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees in most areas.
Tuesday will start off cloudy in the North and West, with a little rain. Spells of summer sunshine will quickly develop, with sunnier skies gradually extending to other areas into the afternoon.
Overall the rest of the week will remain mostly dry, with little light rain and drizzle at times, mainly in the west and north. However, there are chances of some sharp showers and thunderstorms later in the week and into the weekend.
Wednesday and Thursday will be predominantly dry, though cloud will increase from the west overnight bringing a little patchy light rain on Wednesday night, and Thursday will also bring a good lot of cloud for a time.
As the week goes by, it will become increasingly warm, with the weekend’s temperatures set to rise towards 30C on Friday in places.
Next weekend is set to be mostly dry with temperatures remaining between 15–20C.
It seems the bright days are making a comeback.
