Meghan Markle’s father will not attend the royal wedding and faces surgery tomorrow

There have been a lot of mixed messages over the last number of days.

It seems that after much to and fro, Meghan Markle’s dad will not attend his daughter’s wedding on Saturday.

Instead, 73-year-old Thomas will undergo major surgery on Wednesday… just three days before his daughter says ‘I do,’ to Prince Harry at Windsor Castle.

Mr Markle told TMZ details of the surgery, explaining: “They [doctors] will go in and clear blockage, repair damage and put a stent where it is needed.”

On Tuesday afternoon, Thomas said he still really wanted to walk Meghan, 36, down the aisle and would be attending the ceremony and reception.

He had told TMZ: “I hate the idea of missing one of the greatest moments in history and walking my daughter down the aisle.”

Initially, Mr Markle said he was embarrassed because he staged a photo op with a paparazzi agency.

Although that deal was rumoured to be worth six figures, Thomas’s daughter, Samantha (Meghan’s half sister) is adamant he only received around €1,250 plus a small percentage of the royalties.
