A spokesperson said: "Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."
Kensington Palace said the Queen is "delighted" and Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland also said she was "very happy."
Harry and Meghan married in May this year at Windsor castle. The Evening Standard reports the Duchess is 12 weeks pregnant and that the Queen, Prince Charles and other senior royals were told at Princess Eugenie's wedding.
The Royal couple have just arrived in Sydney to start their first official tour as a pair. There will be no change to their schedule, which includes visits to New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga.Explore more on these topics:
