Mariah Carey’s waxwork looks so much like her fans can’t tell which is the real her

It is her double!

It’s almost time for the singer’s favourite time of year and ahead of ‘All I Want for Christmas’ being played on loop across the globe, the singer unveiled her new Madam Tussaud’s wax figure in New York.

However, the figure looks so realistic that when the singer stood next it, it was almost impossible to tell them apart.

One fan questioned whether Mariah has had an identical 'twin' all this time that they had introduced to trick people.

The figure, dressed in a festive red gown and matching heels, holding up a bauble is also sporting some of Carey’s own jewellery which she donated to the figure.

A red ruby necklace, matching earrings and rings have all been added to the waxwork from Carey’s own personal collection.

Announcing the opening on her Instagram, she said: “Finally found someone to help me out with the toy delivery this year! Thank you, Madame Tussauds New York, @madametussaudsusa.”

She then shared a video of her taking her 13-year-old twin boys, Moroccan and Monroe to see the life-sized version of their mum.

In the video, Moroccan can be heard saying: “Wow! It's like I'm looking at you through a mirror.”

The 55-year-old added: “It's surreal. Very good. Look at those shoes!”

Carey stood next to the figure, replicating the pose wearing a sparkly black gown. She said: “We wanted to make an All I Want For Christmas all year round experience. I never would have believed how life-like my wax figure would be!

“The whole room is a complete transformation into Christmastime, and it feels like the perfect home for it.”

Fans were quick to comment with their bewilderment at how life-like it looked: “That's honestly scarily accurate and alike. The best wax figure I’ve seen ever.”

Another agreed: “She literally has the best wax figure ever lol every single other one looks weird.”

While a third commented: “Wow probably the only wax figure that looks just like the actual person. Which one is the real Mariah.”
