A man has sued a burger chain for millions after his burger had onions on it.
Demery Ardell Wilson ordered a burger with no onions at the popular Whataburger last summer, however, he claimed the request was not fulfilled.
The Houston man filed a lawsuit last month after he said he 'immediately' tasted onions once he bit into the burger.
Wilson, who has an allergy to onions, said this bite was enough to cause a reaction.
The man claims he suffered 'serious personal injuries' as a result of eating the burger, saying he 'had to seek the care of medical professional'.
The court filing states that he is now seeking damages of more than $250,000 but less than $1 million.
The popular restaurant chain is pushing back against the allegations in a separate court document, in which they are seeking 'strict proof' for the claims.
This is not the man's first strike against a fast food chain.
Just last year he filed a similar lawsuit against Sonic, for also allegedly putting onions on his burger, triggering an allergic reaction.
It's hard to predict how the case will go, however it's not unusual for chains to be sued for allergic reactions.
This is why allergens are always declared on menus.
The outcome will likely depend on pictures and evidence represented by Wilson.
