Man asks hotel staff for 'game to pass the time' - and they deliver brilliantly
They went above and beyond the call of duty
A man has gone viral on TikTok after sharing a weird and wonderful request he made to a hotel.
Tommy (@tommymodeactivated) was due to stay at the NOVOTEL hotel in Melbourne back in 2019 but before he arrived he sent an email to staff with a weird request - to hide an apple in his room.
He said that he likes little games "to lower my stress levels."
In the message he wrote: "Hi there, I'll be staying two nights with you from Thursday 31/10 to Saturday 02/11 and was wondering if I could ask a favour?
"It may seem a little strange, but can you please hide an apple somewhere in my room for me to find? I travel often, and these small games help take my mind off work and lower my stress levels.
"The type of apple doesn't concern me as I enjoy them all."
The hotel replied saying they would do their best to accommodate Tommy's request.
And they lived up to their words.
When he arrived at the hotel, he was recognised as "the apple boy" by the receptionist, who told him that not one but five apples had been hidden in his room.
He then found a note from the hotel staff on his bed which read: "Dear Thomas, home is where apples are hidden and water is in plain sight. Let me know how many apples you find. Franzi."
The hunt was on.
Whilst he found the first four apples with relative ease, he ended up searching "far too long" for the fifth one, and eventually called it a day.
But fear not, he located the pesky pomme:
