South Korea's Yonhap news agency reports, via the BBC, that North Korea has fired several short-range missiles into the Sea of Japan off its east coast – the first time the North has been so aggressive since 2014.
These latest moves from North Korea, which violate existing UN resolutions, are believed to be a response to military drills being conducted on its borders by the US and South Korea.
