KFC gravy-scented candle is now a thing

WARNING: DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT EAT OR DRINK THIS CANDLE

Scented candles are an essential way of making a home a home and now fried chicken lovers can balance their feng shui perfectly with an official gravy-scented candle from KFC.

The fast-food chain has begun a competition to dish out the candles on their official website, with a limited number of 230 going for the lucky few once they have placed their name and email address into the hat.

KFC has described the construction of the candle in loving terms: “Initially the different ingredients within the gravy were split into their constituent parts and fragrances matched to each. Then the scent was built component by component in the similar ratios as KFC’s iconic gravy.”

Strangely, this is far from the weirdest venture into merchandising that fast-food restaurants have undertaken in recent years.

Burger King’s Whopper flavoured toothpaste left a sour taste in the mouth when launched on April Fool’s day in 2017 but Pizza Hut weren’t joking when partnering with technology firm Novalia to create pizza boxes that could be played as DJ decks.

And KFC have previous in this area too, having previously produced a chicken-scented candle and even a bath bomb festooned with their signature herbs and spices.
