‘MEGAPINTS FOR EVERYONE’
Johnny Depp fans have been gleefully announcing they’ll be drinking ‘megapints’ in celebration after he won his defamation trial against Amber Heard.
On Wednesday evening, the jury ruled in Depp’s favour in the trial, unanimously concluding that Heard had defamed the Pirates of the Caribbean star with a 2018 op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post.
After deliberating for approximately 12 hours and 45 minutes, they concluded that Heard had defamed Depp with the article.
The jury found ‘yes’ in answer to each question asked to them, finding that Heard’s statements about her marriage were “false” and conveyed “a defamatory implication” to people other than Depp.
They also found she acted with “actual malice”.
During the trial the court saw a video of Johnny Depp drunk and smashing cabinets in the kitchen whilst Heard filmed him.
He then pours a rather large glass of wine.
When Heard’s attorney asked him if he had drunk a “mega pint of red wine,” a meme was born.
One person tweeted after the verdict: “Megapints all round! Johnny Depp won!”

It looks like the Pirates of the Caribbean star may have had the opportunity for a normal-sized pint or two himself though.
He was spotted in a Newcastle pub on Wednesday evening in the buildup to the verdict in the trial being read out.
