Can someone take his microphone away?

Joe Rogan has spoken out about gun control following the mass shooting at a Texas elementary school that claimed the lives of 19 kids and two adults.

Talking on his infamous podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan spoke with scientist Lex Fridman about gun control.

“It’s like, how do you stop that? No one knows how to stop that,” he questioned. “What is the answer? Is the answer to take everyone’s guns? Well, they’re not gonna give their guns up. Only criminals are gonna have guns. It’s not gonna be a good situation.”

Rogan also seems to think that gun reform automatically increases the US’s chances of becoming a fascist state. He doesn’t agree with taking “all the guns away from people and give all the power to the government.”

“We see how they are with an armed populace, they still have a tendency towards totalitarianism,” he added, presumably without looking up the meaning of totalitarianism.

“And the more increased power and control you have over people, the easier it is for them to do what they do,” he continued. “And it’s a natural inclination, when you’re a person in power, to try to hold more power and acquire more power.”

Rogan has previously spoken about gun control and in 2013, tweeted: “This country has a mental health problem disguised as a gun problem and a tyranny problem disguised as a security problem.”

People have been discussing his comments online, where some of his fans have shared similar thoughts.

“Given the amount of Bullshit being pushed upon us, especially the last few years, this right is more important than ever,” wrote one fan, who could be referencing the covid vaccine.

But that isn’t to say Rogan is not without opposition.

“Because nowadays, when we both have ’em, we can blast the criminals with their AR-15s, with our AR-15s, -which happens all the time,” one Twitter user said.

“Joe Rogan makes millions of dollars going the wrong direction on common sense daily,” wrote journalist Ernest Owens. “Imagine purposely choosing to make illogical arguments that will continue to endanger the lives of innocent children.”

He added: “From COVID to gun control, it’s a disgusting way to make a living.”
