The Turkish state is invading northeastern Syria, Kurdish lands, after President Trump withdrew his troops from the border

Turkey is invading Syria. The northeastern region of the country is home to the Kurds, the West’s allies on the ground in the fight against ISIS.

The Kurdish SDF fought some of the bloodiest battles against the Islamic fundamentalists and until recently enjoyed the protection of US forces stationed along Syria’s border with Turkey.

Then president Donald Trump withdrew his soldiers and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Erdogan, ordered the invasion of his neighbour.

Airstrikes and artillery have killed civilians.

JOE.co.uk sat down with Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the opposition and the Labour party, to discuss the UK’s response to the invasion, as well as Brexit, and racism in football.
