Jeremy Clarkson and James May are the latest to back “Remain” in the EU Referendum

Britain is more than just the BBC...

Former Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May are the latest celebrities to make their feelings known on the EU referendum.

Clarkson and May will both be voting ‘remain’ on the day on the referendum on Thursday 23, and in a new video featuring the stars, would like the British people to vote that way too.

In a new campaign video done with Britain Stronger in Europe, the former Top Gear presenters set aside their petty differences to try and make a case for Britain to remain in the EU.

“This is very uncharacteristic, we’ve had to put aside the normal policy of our TV show and our relationship and agree on something. Apart from the Ford Mondeo is a good car”, says James May.

“And which sandwich spread is delicious,” chimes in Clarkson.

The boys argument is somewhat simple at first: if the UK were to leave the EU, making their new Amazon driving show, The Grand Tour, would be that much harder to make.

“That’s why we don’t film in Switzerland, it’s a waste of time. Well Switzerland is already a waste of time,” Clarkson mutters before he goes off track.

At time of writing, a YouGov online poll of 1,652 people for The Times put Leave two points ahead on 44%, with Remain on 42%.
