I’m A Celebrity pay rule if contestant leaves early as Grace Dent quits show

There’s a price to pay

Yesterday morning, news emerged that Grace Dent had quit I’m A Celebrity on medical grounds.

A spokesperson confirmed: “Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds.

“She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike.”

The news comes after countless viewers took to social media to voice concern over the appearance of Dent, 50, with many saying she looked “ill.”

Many fans said that they couldn’t recognise Dent after just eight days in the jungle.

After leaving the show, Dent became the first person to go home from this year’s I’m A Celebrity, but did you know that leaving early costs a price?

According to the Mirror, contestants must stay in the jungle for at least 72-hours to be given their fee in full and if someone leaves before that point then their pay cheque will be cut.

As Dent stayed in the jungle for a full week, it appears she won’t be affected by the rule, however Gemma Collins was affected by the rule after leaving the jungle after just three days back in 2014.

At the time, Gemma’s rep explained that she had been offered £100,000 for her stint in the jungle but actually went home with £4,800 after leaving early.

The rep added: “The show is three weeks long and Gemma was in Australia for five days, therefore she will receive a percentage based on that.”
