The Hairy Bikers are set to return to TV screens after Dave Myers underwent treatment for cancer.
The duo made a welcome return to This Morning at the end of April as he gave viewers an update on his health.
The celebrity chef, who is one-half of the Hairy Bikers alongside his best mate Si King, was revealed last year that he was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.
Since then, he has understandably taken a step back from his television duties as he underwent treatment for the illness.
But at the end of April, he was back on our screens alongside Si as the pair made an appearance on This Morning as part of the show’s cooking segment.
Before the much-loved duo began cooking, Holly Willoughby asked Dave how he was doing, with her and co-host Phillip Schofield saying he looked “really well.”
He replied: “I’m doing very well, it’s so nice to be back.”
And now a new show has been announced called The Hairy Bikers Go West which will see Si and Dave tour various locations across Britain that mean something from their past.
Dave was born in Barrow-in-Furness in the northwest and will pass his birthplace as the pair travel from Scotland to Devon as they explore links to their family histories as well as their friendship.
They will start on Bute Island and then go through Dumfries and Galloway, Lancashire, Merseyside and The Isle of Man, North Wales, along The Severn Estuary and Somerset.
The synopsis of the show read: "They will travel from north to south discovering the producers, farmers and chefs that are contributing to a modern British culinary revolution.
Each week they’ll ride across one stunning part of the west coast and explore the changing area through restaurants, recipes, producers and inventive new food entrepreneurs."
Talking to The Mirror, Dave said: “It’s unbelievable to be back. Every breath I take now is just refreshing and fabulous. It varies really what food I’ve been having."
He continued: "At some stage, I need to put weight on, but I need things to boost my immune system.
“So I’ve been eating a lot of sauerkraut. It really works for me – sauerkraut, kimchi and meatballs. I live by it. It’s a probiotic and good for the immune system, and keeps you regular. I love it. It’s the healthy eating that does it.”
