Gordon Ramsay TikTok prompts PETA calls for kids to disown him

‘Intimidating gentle lambs is loutish, not amusing’

Gordon Ramsay has been branded a “callous man” by animal rights group PETA after he posted a TikTok in which he jokes about which lamb is “going in the oven first.”

The outspoken chef posted the video last week in which he approaches some lambs in an enclosed pen.

As he stands on the fence looking at them, he rubs his hands together, saying: “I’m going to eat you! Yummy yum yum. Which one’s going in the oven first?”

He points at one of the lambs and says “you!” before then getting in the pen and walking towards the animals.

The 55-year-old shared the video with the caption “the lamb sauce was still not found in the making of this video” in a reference to his iconic line in an episode of Hell’s Kitchen.

He added: “No animals were cooked in the making of this video.”

So far, the TikTok has racked up 9.7m views and 1.1m likes.

But it has prompted an angry backlash from animal rights nonprofit organisation People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), who branded the chef “callous” and “louting.”

Elisa Allen, PETA UK’s vice president of programmes, went as far as to suggest that Ramsay’s five children disown him and adopt a plant-based diet – in order to teach their father a lesson.

She told JOE: “Gordon Ramsay is a callous man who makes a fool of himself: intimidating gentle lambs is loutish, not amusing.

“What would be funny is if his children went vegan and disowned him – much in the way Elon Musk’s daughter disowned her father. Those lambs are just babies who want little from life but the chance to live it and not end up in this moron’s – or anyone else’s – mouth.”

Many shared PETA’s sentiment in the comments of the video as well.

One person wrote: “I’m not even vegetarian but this is very sad.”

Another said: “That’s actually kinda sad.”

A third said: “Alright I think Gordon has finally lost it. Someone do something before it’s too late.”

And a fourth commented: “Ok I am not a vegan or vegetarian but that crosses the line.”
