Spring-like warmth is here but there is still chance of snow in the UK, as single-digit temperatures are set to return this week, according to the Met Office.
Daytime temperatures are set to drop as the week wears on and may struggle to reach double digits by Friday.
By the end of the week there is even the possibility of wintry showers, as the mist and fog that have been in abundance in many areas will be swept away by strong winds coming in off the Atlantic.
Wintry showers of sleet and snow over high ground in the north of the UK will be brought by stronger winds, while there is a chance of accumulating snow on some mountains and hills.
Even in the south, brief flurries of wet snow are not out of the question as fast-moving hail showers are possible almost anywhere.
A potentially nasty area of low pressure may sweep across the country at the weekend, with gales most likely over Scotland.
In the UK, many parts are likely to experience gusts of between 40 and 50mph, while more exposed parts of the north-west could see winds reaching 60mph or more.
Many of us will have to reach for thick coats, hats and even gloves, as the weather will feel rather cold.
However, beyond the weekend the weather may revert to high pressure once again, which would bring drier conditions, as some computer models suggest.
As is quite typical for this time of year, being only March, there are likely to be many weeks of changeable weather ahead, alternating between milder and colder spells.
