A week before, Collins had sent a text to his sister which read: 'Tell mum to mind that little hand wash in my car acid'. He explained to the jurors in Wood Green Crown Court that he had been referring to some shampoo he used which contained amino acid, adding that he had been concerned about his young nieces finding it.
The court also heard how Collins had undergone two hair transplants and was keeping the shampoo in his car to hide his hair loss from his girlfriend. It was also explained that he used other products, such as Professional-C Serum and Regain.
