FC 26 goes offline

Reports of problems flooded in from across the world, including the US and UK, with tracking site DownDetector logging thousands of complaints during Friday afternoon.

As the Mirror reported, players flagged three main problems: server connection, gameplay and game launch, with 52 per cent of the reports relating to server connection alone. The issues were affecting PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC, the latest wobble for EA’s long-running football franchise.

What EA said about FC 26

EA acknowledged the problems in a short statement on Friday afternoon, telling players it was looking into why some could not get into the game:

We are aware and investigating reports that some players are unable to access FC 26. We’ll provide another update when available.

EA had not confirmed a cause or a timeline for a fix at the time of writing. Players were advised to keep an eye on the publisher’s official channels and DownDetector for the latest on when servers might come back online, rather than repeatedly attempting to reconnect.
