In the UK, every six weeks McDonald’s changes up its menu and adds something new.
Whether that’s an entirely new item or a return of a discontinued favourite, these changes can get a bit confusing.
There have already been some very exciting additions, including the launch of the Friends Meal in February and McGriddles finally coming to the UK after 23 years.
McDonald’s isn’t exactly slowing down with its new releases either, as now with the World Cup fast approaching this month, the menu has had a football-themed shake-up.
To celebrate the kick-off of the eagerly awaited tournament, there are now two new burgers, new sides, collectible items, and some sweet treats on offer.
For the World Cup 2026 menu, the two new McDonald’s burgers are the Sweet Carolina BBQ Stack and the Mexican Chipotle Chicken, in addition to the Crunchy Cheese Bites.
The Sweet Carolina BBQ Stack costs £9.19 and features two beef patties, cheese, bacon, crispy and grilled onions, lettuce, and a sweet Carolina BBQ sauce, all inside a toasted bun, and is available from June 9.
Meanwhile, if you fancy chicken, the Mexican Chipotle Chicken is the one for you and you should look no further.
This burger, priced at £7.49, sees chicken breast in a crispy coating, served with chipotle mayo, a smoky sauce, slivered and crispy onions, lettuce, and a white cheddar cheese slice.
All of these ingredients are stacked inside a toasted bun with a bumpy top that looks a bit like a football, and is also available from June 9.
On the other hand, the Crunchy Cheese Bites are also new on the menu.
The cheesy little balls filled with a mix of Gouda and mozzarella are covered in a crispy breadcrumb coating, and they start from £2.79, also available from June 9.
The new World Cup Meals include the McDonald's new McNugget World Cup meal.
When it comes to the Big Mac Meal, the new meals start from £9.29 for a medium size.
Customers can choose from a Big Mac, nine Chicken McNuggets, or a McPlant, with fries and a drink, and each meal comes with a collectable cup, also available from June 9.
Returning to the menus is the fan-favourite McFlurry while the Galaxy Chocolate option is also staying on the menu. Both available from June 9, they cost £1.89 for a mini size or £2.59 for a regular.
For the young ones, Happy Meals are also getting a World Cup makeover, and Squishmallows are back. Kids can collect one of the plush toys, dressed in football tops, also available from the 9th this month.
McDonald’s UK & Ireland is “levelling up” the popular McCrispy with two new variants, and they’re not limited-edition; they’re permanent, so fans of the chicken burger are also in for a real treat.
Spicy McCrispy is the first one, which turns up the heat and sees a chicken breast in a crunchy coating, topped with iceberg lettuce and a creamy, spicy mayo that gives a “chilli kick”.
And then, there’s a Cheese & Bacon McCrispy if you prefer something a little milder.
For this, the same crispy chicken breast is paired with black pepper mayo, cheese, bacon, and iceberg lettuce, inside a sourdough-style sesame-topped bun.
The burger alone is £7.09, while a medium meal will set you back £8.59, so this option is a little pricier.
