Emiliano Sala's father Horacio has died from a heart attack in Argentina, it has been confirmed. His passing comes just three months after his football player son, Emiliano, died when his plane crashed over the English Channel. "2019 doesn't let up in shocking us with news in this town," politician Julio Muller said. "At 5 o'clock in the morning, the lady, his wife, rang me and she was very upset. "The doctors were there but when I arrived at their home, he had already died." His 28-year-old son Emiliano was flying to Cardiff after transferring from French side Nantes when the Piper Malibu plane he was travelling in crashed. The plane was piloted by David Ibbotson, whose body was never recovered. Emiliano Sala's body was found weeks after the crash and laid to rest in his hometown of Pregreso, Argentina on 16 February.Explore more on these topics:
