The tech billionaire made his ideas clear in a post on X, with an image showing the English Channel labelled with the new proposed name.
"New name for the water that separates England and France," he wrote alongside the picture.
The term English Channel has been used for longer than the US has been in existence.
Users of the app have responded to Musk's latest trolling efforts with dubiousness.
"New name for the UK: The UK of America. Lord knows they need us to intervene on their behalf," another said.
"About time you grow up," a second said.
"He's like the aunt that shares really basic memes on Facebook," a third put.
A French user wrote: "We love George Washington, he’s an honorary citizen of France. But no thank you, we name European sea with European name."
