Stupid, stupid money
David De Gea has reportedly rejected an offer that would’ve seen him pocket £500,000-per-week.
De Gea has been a free agent since leaving Manchester United at the end of last season, but despite interest from several parties, is yet to find a club.
The Spaniard has been one of many players to be linked with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia and had allegedly been approached by Al Nassr.
However according to The Sun, the 33-year-old turned down the chance of a reunion with former United teammates, Alex Telles and Cristiano Ronaldo, as his wife didn’t want to move to the Middle East.
Al Nassr are hopeful of persuading the ‘keeper to join the Saudi Pro League side but face plenty of competition.
Plenty of clubs have thrown their name in contention such as Real Betis and even Spanish second tier side Eldense after he was reportledy spotted in Alicante speaking to the club’s hierarchy.
Another club, which seems like a more likely destination, is MLS franchise Inter Miami.
A number of big-name stars have joined the club such as Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and of course, Lionel Messi, making it an attractive proposition for the former United man to join.
As well as De Gea, Casemiro has also been touted with a move to Saudi Arabia after incoming board member Sir Jim Ratcliffe identified him as a player they could recoup a large fee for to invest in other areas.
