Dakota Johnson speaks out after being dragged into Johnny Depp case after video goes viral

She wants nothing to do with it

Dakota Johnson has spoken out about the now-viral video that claimed she noticed Johnny Depp's injured finger while they were promoting Black Mass. The infamous Depp versus Amber Heard defamation trial may be over but the ramifications are still very much playing out. In the early days of the trial, Depp, 59, took the stand and claimed that Heard, 36, severed his finger with a vodka bottle during a heated argument. Fans were quick to collate images and videos relating to the injury and in one TikTok, a fan claimed that Johnson noticed the damage. Naturally, it spread like wildfire. In all fairness, the video does point to Johnson knowing - but that's largely down to specific music choices, carefully placed text and the TikTok creator taking some creative liberty in telling the story.

However in an interview with Vanity Fair's Britt Hennemuth, the 32-year-old actress denied such claims. "I was like, 'For the love of God, why? Why am I involved in this?'" she questioned. "I don't remember that at all, but please, take me out of this." She added: "Don't let this go further. Can you imagine, oh, my God, if I was called to the witness stand?" On the trial in general, the Fifty Shades of Grey actor spoke on the reception from fans and how they watched it unfold "like it's a show."

"I can't believe that people are watching [the trial] like it's a show. It's like it's a courtroom drama and my heart breaks. It's so, so, so crazy," she said at the time, which was before the trial had ended. "Humans are so f***ing weird. The internet is a wild, wild place."
