Footage posted to social media has shown the terrifying moment that a cruise ship attempting to dock in Venice smashed into a tourist boat, injuring at least five people. Italian police confirmed that the MSC Opera crashed into the Giudecca Canal, which leads to Saint Mark’s Square, at around 8.30am on Sunday morning. In a video of the incident, the cruise ship ploughs into the riverboat and the dock, with the crowd forced to flee.
